How to Reach there

The nearest airport is at Bagdogra and there are regular flights to Kolkata. The railhead is at Siliguri but there is the toy train that runs from New Jalpaiguri/Siliguri to Darjeeling. The nearest bus station to Darjeeling is at Siliguri.

Places to visit
 

Tiger Hill
At an altitude of 2590 meters (8482 ft.), it is the ideal this spot to watch the sunrise over "Kanchenjunga" and the great Eastern Himalayan Mountains. Millions of tourists do so. Even the lofty peak of Mount Everest can be glimpsed from here.

Batasia Loop
This fantastic Railway Loop is a magnificent feat of engineering. It becomes apparent as you watch the toy train winding its way round the loop. It also affords a wondrous view of snowy peak and town.

Observatory Hill
Apart from the stupendous view the observatory Hill is held in great reverence by both Hindus and Buddhists .Thousands come here to worship it.

HIMALAYAN MOUNTAINEERING INSTITUTE & PADMAJA NAIDU HIMALAYAN ZOOLOGICAL PARK
Situated on Jawahar Parbat, apart from training mountaineers, it contains an arresting collection of mountaineering equipment. Adjacent lays a high altitude wild life where the Siberian Tiger, Himalayan Black Bear, Deer, Red Panda, Snow Leopard and Birds live.

Natural History Museum
A comprehensive collection of the fauna of the region is displayed in this museum.

Lloyds Botanical Garden
The verdant garden is a riot of colors containing a representative collection of Himalayan plants, flowers, orchids etc. Don't miss the green houses.

Chunnu Summer Falls (Rock Garden) & Gangamya Par
