Day 01
Arrive: Mumbai by
International Flight |
|
You
will arrive at Mumbai International Airport by international flight.
Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, a
our representative will meet you as you EXIT the ARRIVALS TERMINAL
building after which you would be transferred to your hotel.
MUMBAI
Once a cluster of 7 islands, Bombay was ceded to the Portugese by
the local ruler in the 16th Century. Later, it was acquired by the
English when it was given as a dowry to King Charles II when he
married a Portugees princess. Today cosmopolitan Bombay is a
commercial nerve centre apart from being one of India’s busiest
ports. It is an industrial metropolis as well as the textile and
film capital of the country.

Day 02
In
Mumbai |
|
After
buffet breakfast you will be taken for a half day City tour of
Mumbai.
City tour visiting Mani Bhavan, the house where Mahatma Gandhi used
to stay during his visits to Bombay which is now a Museum displaying
photographs, letters, and personal items used by him. Visit the the
Jain Temple. Drive past the “Towers of Silence”, Kamla Nehru Park
and Hanging Gardens situated on the slope of Malabar Hill offering a
panoramic view of Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach. Drive through
Crawford market, Marine Drive and commemorate the visit of King
George V.
Return to your hotel after the tour.
Rest of the day free for independent activities.

Day 03
Mumbai
- Goa by Flight |
|
Breakfast at the hotel.
Later in time transfer to the airport to connect flight to Goa. On
Arrival in Goa transfer to the hotel.
GOA
Goa is where the water-babies thrive. It is the most preferred beach
destination in India and for many good reasons. Beautiful sandy
beaches, a delightful laissez faire attitude, quaint homes and old
churches in the Portugese tradition, lovely countryside, abundant
seafood, plenty of accommodation in all categories sand plenty of
charter flights- al the good things that make a holiday work are
here.
On arrival in hotel, check in at the hotel.

Day 04
In Goa |
|
After
buffet breakfast, half day city tour of Goa.
Morning city tour wherein you visit Old Goa, which houses the famous
Basilica of Bom Jesus and the Se Cathedral. In the former lies the
uncorrupted body of St. Francis Xavier in a silver casket and the
latter houses 14 magnificent altars and five bells of which one is
the famous golden Bell. Stop en route at the “Habitat” an exclusive
handicraft showroom. The tour continues with a drive to Dona Paula
Bay, where one can have a panoramic view of India’s largest natural
harbour – Marmagoa. After a brief stop at Dona Paula, drive past
Miramar Beach. The tour ends in Panjim, the capital city of Goa,
where you may go on a shopping spree
Return to your hotel.

Day 06
In Goa |
|
Breakfast at the hotel. Later in time transfer to the airport to
connect flight to Cochin.
COCHIN
A city with a rich past, Cochin from time immemorial had seen
maritime trade with the outside world. Biblical Ophir visited by
King Solomon’s ships about 1000 B.C was believed to be a village on
the Malabar Coast. The phoenicians came here to trade for spices,
ivory and sandal-wood. Galleys from Greece and Rome, dhows from
Arabia and great junks from China, they all came here. The Portugese
led by Vasco Da Gama arrived in 1502 and later the Dutch and the
British. And descendants of the Jews who arrived in ancient days
still live here..
Upon arrival at the hotel, you will proceed to check in at your
hotel.

Day 07
In
Cochin |
|
After
leisurely buffet breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed for a full
day combined city tour of Cochin
Sightseeing tour of Cochin takes you to the Jewish section where the
first emigration of Jews to Kerala is said to have taken place in
the 6th Century B.C (In the Ist Century A.D. Jews had fled from
Roman persecution and sought haven in Cranganore, 50 miles away).
The Jewish Synagogue in Mattancherry was built in 1568 and rebuilt
in 1664 with Chinese willow-patterned tiles and gold crowns and has
ancient scrolls. Visit the Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese in
1510 and later taken over by the Dutch. See St. Francis Church, the
first European Church in India, where Vasco Da Gama was burried
until his remains were taken back to Portugal, and the Chinese
Fishing nets named after the country of their origin. A boat cruise
in the backwaters takes you in the midst of a lush green setting of
shady lagoons, wooded islands and canals. You have the opportunity
to see the life of the local people as your boat goes winding past
villages and houses on stilts, coconut groves, and small-scale
industries making coir rope and mats.

Cochin -
Alleppey |

After
buffet breakfast and drive to Alleypey.
On arrival in Alleypey, Transfer to the houseboat. Embark the
houseboat from Allyepey.

Alleppey
- Kumarakom by Surface |
|
Disembark the houseboat at Kotayam. Later drive to Kumarakom.
On arrival in Komarokom, transfer to the hotel.

Kumarakom - Trivandrum by Surface |
|
After
an early buffet breakfast, drive from Kumarakom to Trivandrum.
TRIVANDRUM
A modern city with wide avenues and several beautiful parks and
picturesquely situated on small hills. The highlight of the tour is
a visit to the ancient Padmanabha Swami Temple, the “Gopuram”
(temple-tower) of which is the main architectural landmark of the
city, and which has in the main courtyard and on some 400 pillars
intricate granite sculpture.
On arrival in Trivandrum, transfer to the hotel.

11
Trivandrum - Kovalam - Trivandrum |
|
After
buffet breakfast, proceed for half city tour of Trivandrum.
Proceed to the Chitralayam Art Gallery to view the collection of
Oriental paintings and then visit the Trivandrum Museum to see the
display of local arts and crafts.
Later drive to Kovalam. Walk through the backwater at Kovalam.
Return to your hotel.
